DiRecManagement, Inc. is a single-location, 3rd-party collection agency based in Mobile, Alabama. While many of our clients are located on the Gulf Coast, DiRecManagement, Inc. serves businesses nationwide. To meet our client’s needs we are committed to meeting the requisite state and federal requirements to handle collection accounts in any of the 50 states. DiRecManagement, Inc. handles traditional 3rd-party collections, including medical, non-medical and purchased debt clients, as well as non-traditional collection matters, such as early-out programs, fraud reconciliation campaigns, and contract telephone collections.
Our directive is to creatively collect the largest amount of money in the shortest amount of time for our clients using all legal and ethical methods.
DiRecManagement, Inc. began serving clients on April 1, 1997, as Diversified Receivables Management, Inc. founded to provide businesses with specialized collection services to increase their bottom line. In 2001, Diversified became DiRecManagement, Inc.
Meet the Team
The Management Team of DiRecManagement, Inc., has over 150 years of combined 3rd-party collection experience. Each member of the team is committed to providing highly professional, creative and educated service to bring you the best possible resolution. While our experience speaks volumes, team members complete continuing education programs, including ACA International courses, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and HIPAA training, to constantly advance our services and give you confidence in our collection practices.
President of DiRecManagement, Inc. from March 1997 until present, Mr. McBride has been gaining experience in collections and operations since 1972. He attended the University of South Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974 and later received Paralegal Certification from Spring Hill College. Mr. McBride is a member of the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), the Health Care Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). He’s also a former Board of Directors member and President of the American Alliance of Creditor Attorneys, as well as past President and Board Member of Gulf Coast Collectors Association. Mr. McBride has been recognized by Scholar Degree in Collection Business Management by ACA International and is a licensed Tennessee Collection Service Manager.
Stephen B. Ryan
Vice President, Director of Operations
Stephen Ryan, DiRecManagement’s Director of Collection Operations since 1997, is an alumnus of the University of South Alabama and 20th Century Business College. He has extensive experience in general collections began in 1980 and 3rd-party collections in 1987. Prior to becoming a part of the DiRecManagement team, Mr. Ryan was the Branch Manager at Household Finance, where he was responsible for all facets of branch operation, from lending to collections. Mr. Ryan is an ACA International Certified Collector and Board Member of the West Mobile Rotary Club.
Director of Medical Collections
A University of South Alabama graduate, Mr. Steadham has served as DiRecManagement’s Medical Collections Manager since 2011. Prior to his current position, he was the team’s Small Balance Collection Manager (2009-2011), Retail Collector (2004 – 2009), and Medical Collector (2002-2004). Mr. Steadham is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and is an ACA International Certified Professional Telephone Collector.
Jean B. Hurd
Director of Client Services
Employed in the field of collections since 1973, Mrs. Hurd, Director of Client Services, has over 40 years of experience in medical collections, Medicare, Medicaid, Workman’s Compensation, commercial insurance and private pay collections. After attending Springhill College, Mrs. Hurd was employed as a collector and manager with a large, Alabama-headquartered medical collections agency from 1973 – 1995. She later worked as the Credit Manager at Sodexho Marriott and as Vice President and partner of Care Professional Services, working on site at USA Medical Center. Just prior to joining the DiRecManagement team, Mrs. Hurd was employed by Southern Credit and Collection Services. A member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Mrs. Hurd is a welcome addition to our organization.
William Joey Jordan
Joey Jordan has served as DiRecManagement’s Administrative Director since January of 2016. He has been with the company since 2000, starting as a part time collector, and worked in different roles throughout the office, from skiptracing, to assistant bookkeeper, to bookkeeper. He also serves as DiRecManagement’s in house IT support.
Barre C. Dumas received his undergraduate degree (B.A.) from the University of South Alabama in 1977. He attended the Cumberland School of Law of Sanford University, Birmingham, Alabama and obtained his J.D. Degree in 1980. Mr. Dumas has nearly 40 years of experience representing creditors and creditor collection agencies. In 2018 Mr. Dumas came on as the in-house counsel for DiRecManagement. He also serves as the company’s compliance officer.
Mr. Dumas is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Mobile County Bar Association, and the Baldwin County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all Alabama State courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Alabama and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
